That male button I got from ya is still worried about being in a new place - I hope he settles down and mixes with the girl (and the two jumbo babies). Poor guy, he just keeps running around the bin I have them in.

I want to get a 10 gal tank for those two to put them out in the living room or something, so I can watch them.

He should settle down, just give him a few days. He's been used to being in very large groups, so it might take a little while. He probably doesn't know what to do having a girl all to himself!

lau.gif
well, she is a bit shy, too - especially after last night in the other tank, poor girl. I'm sure they'll get used to each other - at least they aren't fighting

Yes, that's always a plus.

I remembered to plug the fence back in about 2 hours after you guys left. I looked out there and saw all 3 of the horses leaning over the fence eating the grass in the yard

I plugged it back in (with horses touching it

) and no one moved, so I got to walk the fence-line and figure out where it was grounded out

I'll have to wait till tomorrow to see if I got it, I let them back out in the driveway so Friday would leave us alone....he's a biter sometimes, and a total butthead!

I'll have a tank for ya if the african cichlid would ever die(we do feed it, just waiting)...We've been waiting so we can take it down, he's the only fish left cause he ate all the others we put in. He's been living alone in the tank for about 2-3 yrs and just won't die.

Aw you need to take a pic tomorrow and post it. You poor thing you finally have one off the nest and another gets in...No time for the bedding to cool off.

Counting this girl there are 4 that have started brooding within the last week!!
barnie.gif
Gertie, Gretta, and the cochin bantams all hatched these past few days, and the goofy silkie and silkie mix in the tractor just keep cranking them out! The one that looks like a silkie/cochin mix (black with the foofoo hair) has 3 babies now, one is just days old, and the other two are probably 2-3 weeks old. She gets off for a few minutes, a couple times a day, to feed the babies, then gets right back on that nest!! These birds are just crazy, that's what the problem is!

if ya had ducks, you could feed him to them.

There's lots of yard sales this weekend, I figure if I can't find one cheap at Walmart (probably not, I don't want to spend much on one) I can maybe pick one up at a yard sale if I happen to stop at any.

Even a bird cage, if it's the right configuration would work. I'm thinking longer rather than taller. We used to have one like that for the canary we had as kids. One day when I was about 7 or 8 years old he was sitting on his perch like usual, he made a weird squeak and fell off the perch dead

poor thing, he must have been quite a few years old, I remember having him a long time. His name was Dagwood.

well, that was random

I'm not totally awake yet.

I got up at 4:30 (!!!) cause I woke up and for some reason couldn't get back to sleep. So I figured to just get up and check on animals - and of course when they saw me they had to be fed and let out to play.

Oh well, maybe I'll get a nap in later.

Ok folks, time to point and laugh at Meri.....

I am mildly superstitious (not overly so, but a little bit...) and I have a tendancy to pay attention if too much weirdness happens in a short period of time.

So, Anyone who knows me knows I am NOT a morning person. This morning I woke up at 4:30, wide awake, and feeling strange - like something was wrong (nothing was that I could find, however). So I figured it was just me being worrisome because my kids are all up in Michigan and I can't watch over them (yes, Meri tends to also have mild control freak tendancies.)

Then, I am sitting here and I have not one but TWO birds fly into my house - twice. One came in, flew around and flew back out, then he came back with a buddy, flew around then flew out. They were not quiet about it, either, I was in my office, and they made enough chirping noises to get me to go look.

Now my dogs are acting VERY weird - they keep running out to the porch and barking at the thin air. This isn't normally too unusual for the one dog, as she is an idiot, but the other one has more sense than she does and rarely barks at "nothing".

So.... I'm sitting here wondering who died....

Ok, now you can point and laugh

Ok I don't think you're crazy or anything, but I did have to laugh cause I will find myself wondering what's up when I see too many odd things like that. Like when you have to be somewhere and first not one but two or 3 folks pull out in front of you at different intervals, then the car keeps stalling out after you finally get out of town. then you drive by a collision after that...Yeah been there on my way to mom's.

EXACTLY!!!

Now, the birds were swallows, which are usually good omens (they mean safe return home
lau.gif
so maybe not a bad day after all). But oddly enough, shortly after writing that out, Toby ran out the door like mad - ran halfway down the driveway turned to look AT THE HOUSE and started barking at the house ?!?

I told him to come inside he was creeping me out - so now he is sleeping at my feet.

eta - great. now I have the hiccups

Well, I hope you have a wonderful day out of all this weirdness!

On a good note, I got my blue Am this morning...She is so pretty. But not in a very good mood right now. Good thing I took her out in the coop cause as soon as I reached in to grab her she flew out of the box. Was going to put her in your cage for a day or two to moniter, but didn't get a chance to...Oh well, I'm sure the others will be fine with her as they are still new to their home too, and she is sharing her grapes that were in the box with her. But I have to say, BC has taken total advantage of being the oldest girl in the home. She is big boss on the block and totally works it too.
