Well, the chicken that Lucy and Fred attacked the other day was dead this morning - I think she never got totally over the shock of it all.
Baby Donkey is adorable, as usual, but now he is brave and when I feed his mama in the morning, he takes the opportunity to come get scratchies. He's discovered these tall pale folks have fingernails that feel good on his neck and back, so he follows me around the pasture in the mornings while I feed everyone
I been calling him Boo - not sure what his name will eventually be. I think I'm falling in love with him, and I shouldn't do that. At this point I would trade TeaCake to keep Boo, though (TeaCake is such a jerk usually).
If I could just get Tea to mate with Butters, just ONCE, I would sell him off afterwards. Butters (nor any other donkey) will allow him to get that close to them. With him in lockdown, the rest of them are a lot more calm and composed this morning. I am wondering if it isn't a good idea to sell him, and bring some peace back to the rest of them. That's probably why I got him so cheap. Charm is not a word I would use to describe the little guy. Pretty, yes, but obnoxious (hmm, I used to date a guy like that - I got rid of him, too.)
Thing is, he is in lockdown not only because he was so aggressive with Michelle, but because I'm afraid he'll hurt Boo (carelessly more than on purpose). I can't have him harming the babies when they are born, even if it is accidental.
That would leave me without a mini jack, though. Blackjack is a smaller sized standard, so he could do the service for the minis without a problem, but Tea is a spotted, and those bring more money, I'd love to have a spotted jack that is NICE. Blackjack is pretty too, but just not spotted.
Hmmm both Mama and Butters carry the spotted gene, would that be enough if they mated with a black jack?
oh well
