I bought the small bottle too - that gallon bottle costs 75 bucks at our feedstore !!!! yikes.

coolness, thanks for the info - I know the corid is just for cocci, too, and the sulmet is for other stuff as well, would rather just treat what I HAD to treat.

I think the Sulmet and Corid work in two different ways. The Corid specifically blocks something that the cocci need to flourish. I'm not sure how the Sulmet works, but it's an antibiotic and Corid isn't.

I also was told that you can eat the eggs while they are taking Corid, but that seems kind of iffy to me. I know you can't eat the eggs while they're on Sulmet.

That huge Corid bottle is so expensive! I panicked the first time I had to buy it because TSC didn't sell it and Southern States only had the big bottles out on the shelves. Turned out they had the little bottles in the back when I asked, shew! My husband would cry if I spent $80 on chicken medication.

Coolness, I'll be picking up Cindy and Shelley's birds before Chickenstock. Not too soon, though, would hate to have them here and have them get freaked over the crowd I have

I already have a slight problem with the bantams in with the big chickens tonight. I figured to let them out into a coop with a run, so they didn't have to be in with the quail - at bedtime the columbian rocks decided to pick on them

I know the Corid cleared up the calves of Cocci in one or two doses, pretty much. Kept them on it for three days (reccomended time) so it was sure to be gone, but the bad stuff quit after the first day. I didn't know how much to give chicks, though (doesn't say chickens on the bottle) so I got Sulmet for them. Cheaper, but more doses, so it evens out.

I have 19 Standard Cochins coming this week that my friend Billy bought. I may keep a couple..I need a Blue Roo, and he said there is a couple in the mix. The rest will be sold. I will post them in the Trader thread when I get them and have a chance to look them over.

Hey guys!
I tell ya, you miss a couple days on here and you've got a lot of reading to do! LOL I've been busy with school and volleyball so I am waaaaay behind.
Good news! Turns out hubby LOVES the chickens! He told me yesterday that next spring we need to try our hand at ducks and/or geese! LOL This is coming from the man who "was NOT gonna have chickens"

Now since he loves them I need your all's help. He wants a chicken with a "hat" (polish or the like) and a sebright or two. So if you know of anybody in the area that has those, point me in the right direction!
I had to fight the urge to pull into Pop's house the other day to buy guineas.....he puts up a sign in his yard! What am I supposed to do? Ignore it? I don't think so. ... but I did manage to fight the urge, but just cause I remembered how it ended the last time

There's a woman in Versailles that breeds beautiful big fluffy blue Cochins if you all are looking for any more. I'm not sure if she has any for sale right now, but she hatches birds out all the time. She's also the person where I got my pretty Polish from.
