Mojo Chick'n :

I gave the etched big tile to my sister (the one with the gnostic saying) and I gave her a set of Griffon tiles (coasters) - although I may have another set of coasters around... will have to look.

I have a lot of heathen stuff - you guys probably don't want heathen stuff

I'll come up with something....

eta - I did find another set of Griffon coasters. I'll bring that along.

Sorry to have missed the Chickenstock Today, but I have been away dealing with family issues and when I got home I wound up in the hospital myself. I just got out this morning, luckily a neighbor took care of the dogs, fish, birds, pigeons and chickens for me while I was away and in the hospital.

Discovered today when I got home and went to feed everybody that one of my Barred Rock hens is missing from the coop. Also I am finding broken eggs in the nests, not all the eggs are broken, just one or two of them.

Belated Happy Birthday to all my fellow Virgos whose Birthday has passed, (mine was the 18th) and Happy Early Birthday to the rest of the Virgos.

so... I was sitting earlier, after I got home from Chickenstock, and I heard what sounded like a goose choking outside. I muted the Tv to listen better - still sounded like a goose choking, so I go outside to see what's up.

Smokey (baby donkey) is running up and down the pasture trying to hee haw

it was the cutest thing!!! He was having so much fun, trying to get other donkeys to play with him, poor baby. That hee haw needs some serious work, though.

Awww!! Too bad you couldn't video it

Oh, you got the red pyles? I was thinking about getting the golden campine pattern OEGB, but I have too many breeds/colors, and seriously need to thin them out. I have 15 guineas to take care of bug problems, so I can afford to pen up my chickens (I think). Maybe next year, I'd really like some red quill OEGB

Tim left the BB reds for me, but as you know, I have full-bator-itis. I'd thought about giving them to my broody jap hen, but Darryl asked if he had won anything, so I let him take them. As many prizes as we had, everyone should have gotten something! He was pretty stoked, I think

hey Meri, guess what? I forgot I was supposed to be getting eggs from the September swap too, so you'll be getting those as well, if you have room
big_smile.png
There are 4 or 5 BR and 2 or 3 EE

ETA: 7 total, I just don't remember what mix they are. I'm the one organizing that this month, so I know what I'm getting

Should have took the BC Marans, but I didn't think that was fair

Well apparently I need to just order what I want when it comes to chicks, instead of getting a mix. It seems that not only do I not have any EE, I also don't have any BR. The 3 head spot chicks all have rosecombs, so evidently they are dominiques. There are a lot that look like austrolorps, some white and brown leghorns, some that might be white rocks, SLW and GLW, and some that are kind of speckly-looking? At least their faces are. I was wanting some EE and BR, so I figured I'd get at least some of each in the rainbow egg layers mix. Guess next time I'll just order each of the sets and deal with all the chicks. At least then I know I'll get what I want

There is also the one that looks like a buff orp, it had better not be a sex-link! Meri, did it have any stripes on its back when you got them? Its wings seem to be coming in white, so I'm hoping it's not a sex-link (red star).

No stripes that I could see. It seemed a bit light for an orp, but a lot of hatchery orps look lighter like that.

If ya want BR I'll have some eggs for ya later this year that you can buy off me. Soon as I get the girls seperated into their pens (and my BR roo starts getting his Mojo On.)

Can't help ya on the EE, though.

eta - I haven't ruled out that mottled cockerel ya got - if I coulda snuck him past Bruce yesterday I'd have taken him home with me - I seriously considered putting some of your babies into my pockets.... Maybe a mottled cockerel with white and blue hens? that would be pretty.
