Kentucky people

I cheat as well, I have a light timer for the girls which gives them about 14 hours of light, then they get moonlight for the rest of the night. I get about 8 to 11 eggs per day out of about 15 girls. For what I'm feeding them they ought to all be producing. If I could figure out who is slacking off, I'd introduce her to the crock pot. So far no moulting that I can tell. Just some love spots on their backs and heads.

My Cochins seem to lay in cycles. They will lay for a week or two..then quit. Then they pause a while before starting back up. I have enough of them that I always seem to have someone laying though..so that works.
I haven't had to threaten them yet!

I was beginning to wonder about him. I caught him mounting the odd colored girl this morning - Bubba was standing by giving him a pep talk.

Cindy your package is in the mail..... I put in a little gift since I made you wait....

I'll be at the Shepherdsville stock yards on Saturday.... you bring the birds, I'll bring the bread.... I met a woman who told me about Marans and I'm thinking I want some of those too....

My girls are off the nests... I think it is the cold weather.... I have a heat light and a light timer but the barn lights are always on....
They have no reason to be fussy about laying.... I got no eggs yesterday and 3 today... I actually had to buy eggs on Saturday since I was doing some cookies for the kids.... Grrrrr.... they either lay or they're going to get eaten....
