Well, Tony shot a bobcat tonight on it's way to our barns (and probably my duck/geese pens
) There were three of them, and he only got the one. The guys were out there getting hay in out of the field yet at dusk when he saw them. Luckily he'd been hunting that morning and had his gun in the truck right next to him.
I'll get a pic tomorrow if it's still out by the coop - not sure if some other pred will grab it (or Toby) or not. Makes me worry about the ducks and geese. It was a small one - Tony said there was a big one with two smaller ones, probably a Mama and her kits. Jamie saw a huge one this last summer crossing the same hayfield, probably part of the same family unit.
The fur is very soft, I may process it for the skull, not sure though - depends on if I have time to work with it. I think I gave my other bobcat skull to Layne - so I could use another one
Or was it the skunk skull that I gave him? I hear his dog ate it
so unless I go look to see which ones I have still, we'll never know, probably.
This has been the longest day! and I have yet to cook dinner. I've been running since 6:30 this morning. Which reminds me, Shelley, how's the chickie doing tonight?
We thought we were done after putting up all that hay (after dark) but then I remembered I had feed in the truck to unload
. I just want to eat dinner and go to bed.
