Anybody been to the auction is Sano? It might be called the Sano auction barn? Someone was telling me about it but they had only been once a long time ago. Supposedly they have chickens goats and all kinds of stuff. Sounds like it might be interesting?

I believe its called the Sano Goat Auction, not sure. I live 5 minsutes from there and still couldnt tell ya, lol.

On another note, I have a question. Is there anyone near me (Russell Springs) that has shipped birds recently and if so where did they ship them from? I know there is a USPS post office in Columbia, but didnt know if they accepted live birds or not. Any advice is much appreciated!

I have been there a couple of times and that was enough for me. It's definitely a buyers market..not a sellers market. I had pullets there once and they didn't even want to give $5 for them. Even baby chicks seem to be overpriced there at $2 each..they want everything for free it seems.
On the other hand...be extremely careful what you buy there. Lots of sick birds go through there. I have had many of my customers tell me that they have bought hens there and they were all dead within a week. I would never recommend them.

I ship out of Liberty all the time. ANY of your post offices will take birds. Day olds send priority or Express and any other age always sends out Express. I like to send Express with Hold for Pickup. It's best to call them and ask when the last pickup of the day is and that you are wanting to send live birds but want to bring them in before the last pickup. For example, the Dunnville post office likes to get them no later than 3:20pm as they close their window at 3:30pm. Liberty likes to get them no later than 3:55pm as they close at 4pm.

I have a hen who has 15 week-old babies right now, so it is not unusual. I usually have at least one hen a year hatch babies in the winter, but the majority do so in the warmer months.

Columbia does accept live birds, their truck comes around 4 p.m. so they'd like you to have them there by 3 p.m.
