When the water runs out, humidity drops...can be fast especially if your house is dry.
What is holding water for humidity in your incubator?
Pics would help.

Its the plastic tray that came with the bator. During the day, the humidity stays steady so I dont know why it drops at night. The other incubator doesnt do that, just the Incuview.

OK, I am familiar with the Incuview.
It can be difficult to keep humidity up.
Takes some dinking with on how many of the 3 reservoirs to fill,
and is hard to see how full they are(I think this is an issue with most incubators).
Like I said before wen the water runs out the humidity is going to drop and you have to fill it back up. No way around it, unless you buy the humidity pumps that are available.

Humidity over the incubation, up until lock down, can vary depending on air cell growth(or weight loss)...at 'lockdown' when you want the humidity to go up and stay up is often more difficult. Sponges inside incubator can help, increasing the humidity in the room the incubator is sitting can help.
I put a sponge around the vent hole, shown dry here:

Right now Im using the outermost resevoir and the next one in for the water. I use a little food dye to color the water so I can tell the level. So far its worked until the past two days Ive checked in the morning and its dropped to nearly nothing but Im wondering if its the growth of the chicks sucking the humidity down?
As for the sponge in the pic, do you wet it down at some point or leave it dry?

I can't remember how many of the reservoirs I filled, but if yours is running out too soon fill all 3. Next step would be to add sponge inside incubator.

Wet it. It seems to help, but I have no proof. Got the idea from another Incuviewer.


Balancing the humidity seems to have fine line, can be too low then skyrocket with additions. As with all incubations, the ambient temperature and humidity will make a difference.

Try filling two sections with water instead of just one..

This morning I checked and the humidity was rigjt on 55% which is what the range indicator says is ok. Bad thing is I work all day and worry it will drop while Im not home. I will get a sponge and try your method and see if it does help. I have been filling the outermost resevoir full and then the second most one about halfway with water and that seemed to be opitmal for the range I wanted, but may have to add a little to all three if it keeps dropping like that.

I know nothing about this incubator but you may want to try filling that second tray. It works off of surface area not depth.

Remember that it's surface area, not depth, of water that establishes amount of humidity.
Depth will dictate how long it lasts...so fill up the 2 and see if it lasts.

Not sure how long KC take to incubate,
but variation of humidity is not a problem overall before lockdown,
it's the average and how air cells are growing.

KC takes 28 days to incubate. The humidity didnt drop today but its been raining all day here, so maybe that has something to do with it. I will candle this weekend for the last time and put them in lockdown Monday.
