Yeah I guess so and that sounds nice enough but that’s like way down the line like if I ever got married or bought a house together or whatever. I don’t think I need one to pay rent at an apartment.

Don't rent. When you're ready, stretch as far as you can and just go ahead and buy. You might as well pay your own equity instead of someone else's! You can always start small and work up ... that's what your landlords did!
