When I went for my walk this morning I encountered a lost bird.

Therapy dogs are different than service dogs though, right? Like therapy is visiting other people and stuff and the service is doing tasks etc. so maybe for service dogs the retrieve is important? Since some people need their dog to retrieve dropped items etc. for them. And maybe for therapy and/or emotional support dogs since the goal is to just be loved on the retrieve isn’t as important? Maybe that’s why those trainers said that. Even for a medical alert dog, the retrieve probably is not quite as important as it would be for another type of service dog that would need to be retrieving lots. Although of course like you said it’s more about their willingness to perform the tasks. Which Gold seems like he would rather be loved on 😂🤣 which is perfect for a therapy/visiting dog or ESA but maybe not so perfect for an SD 😂🤣
She would’ve been certified for both. They consider theirs therapy but are service trained. People claim they have therapy dogs but never once paid for a trainer

That makes sense! Technically service dogs don’t really need one cause there’s a lot of owner trained ones but for therapy they definitely do cause to be able to visit public places like schools and hospitals and stuff they need to pass a test and be certified haha so they’re definitely not a real therapy dog if they’re not certified cause no reputable facility would even let an uncertified dog visit haha and even most owner trained SDs at least work with a trainer and have someone to help them even if they’re not from a school or whatever.

I can bring my pug to the hospital when I’m hospitalized and she can stay with me. My dr is the best!

Last time I had a golden in my room it left hair everywhere 😩 it was tumbleweeds going across the floor. The cleaning crew cake and were wondering how all the hair got it my room.

Your hospital is special! ;) most wouldn’t allow that or at least wouldn’t allow the dog to visit any other patients haha

And oh wow 😂🤣😂 Goldens do shed a lot! Lol but at least it is easy to pick up since it tumbleweeds. Labs have little individual hairs that weave into the furniture and clothes and everywhere lol you can still find hair from them years later lmao

Try beagle hair. It’s worse. It makes hair splinters in your skin and it’s painful
