Got ya beat. I stopped counting broken bones at 70 qty. Never broke my jaw though. That has to suck! I’ve seen enough westerns that I just stitch myself up now.
The jaw was pure stupidity on my part.

I was turning my App gelding out. Every day for the duration of his existence, he would do the same thing every time. I'd walk him into the pasture, take off his halter and lead, he'd take a few steps and then buck and take off. He did this every single time I would turn him out. I came to expect it.

That particular day, I took his halter and lead off and accidentally dropped them. Like a dummy I bent down to grab them and WHAM. For the first time in his life he bucked and THEN took off. Got me right in the side of the face. I couldn't hear anything for a good 15 minutes. My lord I saw stars. Got lucky though. Any higher and it would've been lights out for good.

Don't ever let yourself get comfortable around large animals. Even if you think you know them. Even if you've done the same thing 1,000 times. ALWAYS expect the unexpected.

I have my own suture kits at home now.
