I haven't had one bite and hold yet. 12 ft Retic grazed my inner thigh once. That was 100% my fault. He was in food mode and I wasn't paying attention.

Had that same scenario with a juvie Nile monitor though. Everyone was freaking out while he shook and twisted at my finger. Blood was dripping all over the floor. I patiently waited for him to let go.

It was hilarious.

Thigh? Yikes!! That woulda left a major mark if it held.
I can just imagine the little monitor in attack mode! Like a puppy trying to shake a big toy.

Think it took me about 20 minutes to get the ball off... he was wrapped and determined!
Poor things was so hungry! There was blood everywhere but no damage to his teeth or mouth thankfully. The moody teenager ball got a finger one day. He was super moody, unpredictable, and not well handled at all. The king was a hands off snake period.
Trying to remember, but of all the wild snakes I've dealt with, and some were big and nasty, I never got bit. I sure hated picking up and moving the back snakes though...ugh they smell icky. And it doesn't wash off.

DS turned 21 this Spring - and can honestly say that he'd never had a drink of alcohol before then ... not even communion wine, which he didn't drink, he dunked. He's had a taste or two since, but nothing dramatic. I'm pretty proud of him!

my oldest is”responsible” like that......he wouldn’t drink before ag 21 and even now he will drink but only at home or out with us and never when he h has to “adult”!!

I make mine with a 1:1 ratio using 100 proof.

I go right around the outside isle of foodstores now; meat, dairy, frozen meat...out.
But I may venture to the middle and track this down.

Tired? Yup! But it was Post #1,887 - I thought I was going nuts, so I went back to check! You're right - there was no picture in the post, but there WAS one in the quote from Kiki ... a picture of mini yorkshire puddings - which really DID look awesome! I think my overtired self just got caught on a roll (all puns intended!) and lumped them together. At least I know I'm not TOTALLY crazy ... significantly crazy? Yup! Totally? ... not quite ... at least not yet, anyway!

Hmmmm .... Hilarious? I can't say as I've ever experienced "hilarious" with dripping blood ... but to each his - or her - own, I guess!

Hansel’s has gotten louder over time but no less awful

yeah my boys were both really quiet at first but now they’re getting louder. Jack at least sounds like an actual big boy now he sounded like a crying dog for a while.

Here’s a video of the boys crowing that my dad took last week. I need to get a new one though with the quail cause it’s hilarious! Last night the quail started at like 3:30 and then Jack started a little over an hour later at quarter to 5 all while the quail and wild birds are still going
