Killing, Plucking, Eviscerating, & Cutting Up Your Chicken - Graphic!

Pics
Excellent!

I'm wondering if a "plucker" was rented from a store or if it is something that a local made and rents out. put otherwise, how many of these "pluckers" were made?

Frugal....I have been looking for someone to process my birds..and after seeing your step by step instructions. I think I can do it all by myself. That was Awesome!! and I truly can't thank you enough. My extra roosters are in trouble now(all 9 fo them).

Once again Frugal, thanks very much...I'm a newbie to chickens but not to cleaning fowl, rabbits, etc as I was an avid hunter once.
The info is really good and jogged my old memory into reluctant run-mode. The pics are great...Mikey

my grandparents kill ther own chickens too but i've never seen it done and i'm glad. those are some gross pictures you've got there. the most i've seen are the heads being cut off with an ax. yuk. i'll have to tell my grandparents about the plucker. they do everything by hand. that would ne a nice tool for them to have since they are getting older.

Thank you! I have too many roos and DH has been planning to take care of that for awhile now, but just hasn't gotten to it. My poor hens are starting to look pre-plucked and thanks to you Frugal I think I can manage it on my own... gonna try now anyway.

Hi... great post, thank you!

One question: in the photos you slaughtered one chicken, and ended up with six chicken feet. How did you ever catch that bird?
