They are definitely most likely pregnant....But the babies are some of the cutest things around, and if you are wanting guinea pigs anyway, it doesn't sound like a bad thing at all! Those piggies are very pretty and i'm sure they will love being classroom pets! I must say, when I was younger I had quite a few litters of guinea pigs, and only ever had problems once. I was guilty of being the child who told my parents after putting my male and female together "well they were lonelyyyy" My female, Oreo, had a few litters (once with 6!!!) and the time that there were problems (her last litter, we kept both female and male babies to keep Oreo and her beau, Frosty, company) I was old enough to know better, and hadn't wanted her to get pregnant. She had a litter of 3 (i think) and only two survived, and one of them had some developmental issues...no problems with any of the other litters, she usually had them overnight, and I would wake to cute little babies scampering around the pen. I miss my piggies!
