Kitty and Dog Thread, Show Me What You Got, other critters welcome too

Pics
I had a couple more, but they were too aggressive. It's what happens when you breed and keep them all. :D

That makes sense!! Did you eat those ones or sell them or??

And oh boy! I think I would do that too. :lau

It’s part of why I’m nervous to get quail because I know I would want to keep every baby I hatched and wind up a quail hoarder. :lau

Look away if you are weak willed. :gig

OMG those are about the cutest dang babies I think I’ve ever seen!!! :love

Lionhead mix? Netherland dwarf?? Lop??

Now you have me wanting bunnies again lol

Love them :love

Didn’t realize you had the little silkie too. And are Frank and Abby littermates? For some reason I was thinking they were from separate litters but same parents? Either way they’re adorable. :love

And aww sorry you can’t have a cat!! :(

But bunnies can be very cat like! :D I actually think they might be better than cats but don’t tell Luna that. :p

Some dogs can be very cat like too. They say Italian Greyhounds are too.

Yes you're right KD, not litter mates but same parents. We kept in contact with the lady we got Frank from and she sent us pics of the puppies asking if we knew anyone looking for one...she was practically giving them away because they weren't planned and she wasn't going to have any more puppies. She didn't know the female could go into heat without delay and hadn't had her spayed yet. I fell in love with Abazabba in that pic and chose her without even meeting her first.

They were eaten. They are lionhead and mini lop mixes. I have 2 mini lop, buck and doe, and a lionhead buck who was the daddy.

That’s amazing. :love

I think sometimes dogs choose us. Other animals too. I think they know who they want their owner to be and have a way of finding the right one. :)

Did she have her spayed after that? You could adopt another sibling if not :lau

They are both very beautiful!!

So are they both around the same age then?

I would have probably eaten them too. Or maybe given them away. Idk. Totally understand why you didn’t though but bunnies are so cute idk if I could do it.

And aww that is adorable!! Do the lips get a lot of ear infections? I read they can??

I’ve been looking at puppies again today. thought I wanted a Golden next and willing to wait but there’s several Lab breeders around with puppies available now and/or end of this month... It’s not really a good time and they’re also mostly girls and darker colors and I think I’d prefer a boy and a lighter color (the dark fur is too much with the shedding lol you see it more) and plus I really want a Golden but still.... they’re adorable and tempting and hard not to take one :lau

Thank you. Yes the mother, a white American Bull Terrier was spayed after Abby, there were only 3 puppies in the litter, all found homes. The father is a papered English Bull Terrier so she studs him out once in a while.

Abby turned a year old in September and Frank is 7 months older than she is. We got Abby because we wanted a puppy to grow up with Frank. It's so much easier when your pups are close in age and temperament. They are 2 peas in a pod.

That’s awesome!! Bet the parents are beautiful. :love

And aww that’s awesome!! That’s similar to what DB & SIL did.

They adopted Franklin last September when Libby was only about 9 or 10 months old (I think her birthday is either November or December, not sure) and Franklin was only about 4 months old I think (around 16 or 17 weeks). So they are very close in age. Libby is now almost 2 and Franklin turned a year old in June.

They are best friends. They’re also male and female too though which may help but I think they just love having a friend.

Libby LOVES everyone and anyone so I think she was very much wanting a dog friend to play with and was very glad when she finally got one. :love it helped calm her down too cause she used to get VERY excited when she saw other dogs and now she has her own permanent best friend :lau

And Franklin was very anxious and scared when he first came to them and having such a loving, confident big sister has really helped him come out of his shell. :love

I don’t think I would ever have just one dog after seeing how much they love each other and how good they are for each other.

But it has to be the right match. I’be seen some people with younger or more energetic dogs who constantly harass and bully the older and/or more mellow one, wanting to play all the time or very pushy, jealous, dominant, etc. or whatever and I don’t think that’s fair either letting one get bullied every day.

I think getting similar aged dogs is an excellent idea but I do think the only should be slightly older and trained first rather than adopting, say, litter mates at the same time. Training two very young puppies at once is hard.

I agree 100%. The Silkie gets respect from the youngsters, but she's more interested in sleep, food and a daily walk than playing. Abby has really helped with Frank as far as play and energy level. Frank helped Abby learn to use the doggy door and gives her a boost of confidence when we go out. She's kind of shy and he's open to visiting with every human he comes across lol.
