We are dog people, all 3 of these are ours. The white dogs are brother and sister at a year +, the Silkie is almost 13. I would have cats but I've become terribly allergic and can't :hit

I'm currently working on getting a bunny or 2, have to work on hubs for now :fl
They are really cute!! I know they aren’t pitts but they sorta look it... I’m starting to get a soft spot for a pitt bulls...

I agree 100%. The Silkie gets respect from the youngsters, but she's more interested in sleep, food and a daily walk than playing. Abby has really helped with Frank as far as play and energy level. Frank helped Abby learn to use the doggy door and gives her a boost of confidence when we go out. She's kind of shy and he's open to visiting with every human he comes across lol.

The more you talk about them, the more they really do sound very very similar to Libby and Franklin!! Lol just the genders are reversed. :lau

Franklin is still a bit shy and anxious even though he’s a lot better now and Libby is the social butterfly.

Franklin used to get scared on walks alone but now he’s fine alone but still prefers to go with his big sister lol

And they just recently had a little party/get together thing and Libby was the social butterfly, life of the party, right up in the action where all the people were (and food), walking around saying hi to everyone, checking everything out, and Franklin was mostly hiding. Either at the bottom of the yard way away from everything (they have a large yard and most of the party was on the deck or inside) or in the basement lol poor guy. He was pretty nervous.

But the weird thing is on walks he’ll socialize and loves the attention but he just gets nervous with large groups of people and also certain types of people because even on walks or out and about there’s still some he gets nervous about.

Thank you! They are pit mixes. Pit Bull is what people call American Bull Terriers. Their mother is a Pitty, father is an English Bull Terrier...the Target dog or Spuds Mackenzie

That’s amazing. :love

I think sometimes dogs choose us. Other animals too. I think they know who they want their owner to be and have a way of finding the right one. :)

Did she have her spayed after that? You could adopt another sibling if not :lau

They are both very beautiful!!

So are they both around the same age then?

I would have probably eaten them too. Or maybe given them away. Idk. Totally understand why you didn’t though but bunnies are so cute idk if I could do it.

And aww that is adorable!! Do the lips get a lot of ear infections? I read they can??
I haven't had any health problems with mine. Around here people are always trying to get rid of bunnies, so a couple that like to try to bite you, I didn't think would be easy to find someone who would want that except to eat.

I love pits :love

I love all the bully breeds though. They’re the biggest sweeties. :love

People think they’re so mean but most of them are the biggest babies :lau

I'll be honest, Frank is very protective so we have to be careful. Especially going to the park. Just yesterday another dog was growling at me over the ball we take to the park and Frank attacked her. Abby joined in the attack. He doesn't draw blood but he pins the other dog and gets hold of their face so it can't bite him and then he won't let go. He doesn't start things but he stops them. They aren't dogs for people with no experience or a soft personality. They are very good dogs, but they don't take kindly to people or other dogs that "threaten their pack."

Okay, I knew what the English bull terrier was but didn’t remember about the American... they just call em Pitt bulls everywhere and so much that you forget... thanks..
And yikes.. that sounds like a scary situation with him “attacking” that other dog... that’s what hubs was thinking would happen if I got one cuz our others are respectful of each other’s food and bones and he thought a Pitt might not be so... also... we are no softies :D

That makes total sense!!

Some would actually probably look at that as a good trait ha depends on your preferences I guess but him defending you is pretty sweet. :love

And as long as he doesn’t start it and/or only does it when necessary, I don’t think it’s really necessarily aggression. Franklin can be a little protective sometimes too. He even once ran off a bear!! Libby sat on the deck and watched the whole thing :lau

But of course some people prefer their dogs to be docile as little lambs and not fight back ever.

I’m not sure where I stand. Gator was sometimes reactive on leash with certain dogs and it was scary because he was so big so I kind of don’t really want to deal with that again and want a more friendly, gentle breed next but then I also don’t really want them to just let another dog beat them up so idk. Gator only really reacted a couple times but it still scared me enough that I didn’t really walk him much after that or would go at weird times. He was very protective though and also went crazy when anything came on the property or to the door. Not sure I want to deal with protection again but looking back I probably could have trained that out or at least trained him to back off when told and be more under control. I actually did work with him a little bit and he was better for a bit.

Is Frank reactive at all or protective of the house or is he fine as long as they are?

Sometimes I think a protective dog would be nice if/when I move out and live on my own and especially since I want to start hiking and walking a lot and being alone can be kinda dangerous but at the same time, protective dogs can be a lot to handle and I also want a friendly, sociable dog I can take everywhere so idk.

I was thinking Aussie cause they’ve got a little bit of the protectiveness while still being friendly, goofy, etc. and super smart all of which I like but I think they might be a little bit too high energy for me and still not sure about the protectiveness so idk.

I’ll probably just end up with a basic, generic breed like a Golden or Lab or a spaniel or doodle :lau

I’ve also considered poodle, English Shepherd, GSD, and a little dog like some of the little terriers and such.

Anyway, sorry for all the novels.
