Am reading...just struggling to comment @ present.

The jetty here used to be twice as long as it presently is. My farm friend, who grew up here, tells me they were partying on the jetty one winter night. It got so cold they decided to light a fire. In.The.Middle.Of.The.Jetty. What can I say? I can only wonder how much tequila they'd actually had to think that was a brilliant idea.

My 3 cockerel's that are getting picked up on Friday are free. I give away my extra boy's, just to get rid of them. I really don't like having to off them if no one takes them. The temps here to day is supposed to get up in the 70's-F.

It's amazing what you have noticed with the testosterone thing when you took your's in for processing.

If you try that recipe that was given on Bob's thread, it had been mentioned not to use the fresh garlic, but to use the picked type instead. I don't know if you had caught that part or not.

I wonder if you could use some garlic salt or powdered garlic instead? We have lots of that on hand as we use it in sausage making and buy it by the kg because it is so much less expensive. I can buy a 50g glass jar of spices for about half the price I can buy a kg of it for most things from the commercial sausage supplier. But I’m fairly new to canning

I don't know if you could use the powdered garlic. I'm new to canning myself. Maybe you could ask @mixedUPturk

I think the only reason to use whole clove toes is for the ability to see it looking cute. I got my pickled garlic tonight at walmart. About the same price as fresh.

A big part of me can not wait until this job is done so I can get to taking care of my own chores again and spend more time with the chickens. But I’m also appreciating the monotony and simplicity of having a task I can do that is so straightforward. And the credit to our propane bill is wonderful too

Good morning Sarah! I’d like to say ready for occupancy as of February, but I have a feeling you mean our house and not the one I’ve been working on... our Floor Joists are in and we are working on the Blocking that ties them together. Well, Andrew Is, I won’t work on it again until FIL is in Cuba. Our weather has been awfully wet and nasty, which is slowing things up significantly.

I may have found some Paying Cash work in Drywalling and Painting, but will have to see how it pans out. I also offered to do a work trade, rather than getting paid cash, being repaid in labor standing our walls up. Nice strong young guy... but I’m getting too old for these kind of days. 7 am up, 8am Chickens, 9:30-10am standing up Rosebud, then over to the other side of the island where I work as late as I can to conserve gas. Last night I got home at 11pm. I’m wiped out constantly right now, and haven’t been online much.
