I have to feel sorry for this poor chicken! I’m certain this is a double yolker. The little blue egg is my average size, the two brown ones are from the production chickens, and that monster egg is from what I’m assuming is one sore chicken!

Today was some fun and games finding the septic tank for the abbatoir. Now I just need to dig up the pipes and find and fix the pump... fun times! It took three passes with my weed whacker to take down the thistle, grasses, and stinging nettles. It was about 1 1/2 hours of trimming and the ground was so perilous and uneven it was ridiculous!

I don’t know why I always forget to take before pictures... but the vegetation was taller than the boards against the building when I started!

I’m so glad the person who designed our house system didn’t feel the need to pump everything uphill and has clearly marked out where the field is and incorporated several clean outs into the design! Those points are getting little above ground boxes so we don’t “lose” them and have the system fail.

Now to see if we can catch that darn calf...

My cats are well trained as well. It's not hard, people don't give cats enough credit. Just like chickens can be trained as well.

Yes, mine have been bullying my mother since September 2017... I need to get them back living with me. She’s let them pick up all sorts of bad habits like jumping up, stealing her food from her plate, she will let them paw at her sandwiches! She doesn’t make the sit for feedings or treats, it’s very frustrating for me. Pawing her face to wake her up for treats. She also feeds them too much bad human food then gets angry that they throw up. They are my little babies.

I was going to get one kitten to keep my older cat company, then I thought maybe if they don’t get along kitten will be lonely so I will take two, oh there’s one more and it will be left all alone? I’ll take all three then. So I walked a couple miles down the highway with three little kittens in my sweater on summer evening (the 12 year old that gave them to me could see a sucker a mile away!) that was back in 2004, if I recall correctly.

Charlie is left, Whisper is right. Whisper had rolled in sidewalk chalk in the picture with the leash.

Awesome! I love the one of Patsy and Davis when I first brought Tippie in to get some scissors and work in decent light on her foot, my cats were absolutely horrified at the strange thing I was holding! Charlie got pecked for investigating her too closely, and that sealed that, they aren’t fans of chickens at all

At the time I had an orange tabby. He was the sweetest. I was holding my leghorn Daisy and the cat came to check out what she was. Daisy was having none of it. She wacked him right between the eyes. I could hear the crack when she impacted. He cried out and ran off. He never came near them again.

He has since passed. Here is Dr. Z.

She passed while I was out... but thank you for the help @rjohns39 i really appreciate that you took the time to help me with this, it’s sad, but not unexpected, though I did have some hope early in the morning for her.

Thanks so much, even though they are mostly destined for the Freezer, I still want them to be happy and healthy until then.

Dr Z is beautiful, I’m sorry for your loss as well. It’s been 15 years now, and I still dearly Miss my cat Chico, who I got the kittens for. Animals are special, all sorts, but cats are especially close to me. I’ve had one since the day I was born, and only have been catless for 1 1/2 years before now when I was trying to find a rental that would take all 4 of us.

Fresh Calf, huge and a boy. Mama is darker, I don’t know exactly what mix he is but oh, so cute. And just as evasive as his black/reddish cousin born on the 5th.

I’m going to have to move them down to the Barn with the chute to tag and elastrate them. With Andrew recovering from the Surgery and still not allowed to lift anything, I’m guessing wrestling calves is also off the table.
