Kristen’s Chickens and Farming Ventures

Kris I just woke up from a very unexpected nap. You do all that hard work and I am still procrastinating with utensils (every one of them) though I finally did do the dishes .

don’t worry, my trailer currently looks like a bomb has gone off in it! It is truly amazing how a 12x12’ space can become such a disaster. 1/3 of our dishes need done (DH will have to bring up the water from the abandoned Jeep on the way home from work tonight) I’m standing in front of the heater because #1 warm and #2 all the seats are covered in stuff. There is an almost clear path into the “kitchen” (I’m working on it!) and the counter is covered in eggs again, because I didn’t get to recycling in time to pick up cartons because DH’s wallet was misplaced this morning (eventually turned up in his work boot in the truck) that’s also how the majority of the mess on the floor happened...

Good Evening Bob! And you too @drumstick diva, if you’re still awake!

yesterday was glorious, I sat in the hot tub at the pool for as long as we could, and had several showers. It really helped refresh me. Then on the way home I was able to arrange some more semi-paid work. Helped a bit with a move and got bought a beer at the pub while waiting for DH to get off work (it really didn’t seem productive to walk home after such a great day). Then the truck wouldn’t start and our friend had to drive back to jump us. We are now 90% sure it’s the alternator. That was just the beginning of the balancing, though we didn’t realize it at the time.

Today driving the Jeep down to the farm for water I was attributing the random lack of power to the fact I was coasting down on fumes. We poured some fuel in so all should be ok. I made it through the first gate ok, but the car was still doing the odd no power thing. By gate three (they are all close together) there was an awful metallic grinding sound coming from the engine. I managed to pull off the road, but we think the transmission is toast. To top it off the little helper here has a nasty case of head lice. *Shudder* I’m checking daily and avoiding contact as much as possible.

here’s my pictures from Monday waterproofing:

very exciting, I know! It goes from grey to black...
Did you check to see if you have oil in the engine and check the tranny for fluid level? in your ruff terrain you could have knocked a hole in one of the pans or sheered off a drain plug.

I'm really glad you had a lovely relaxing soak Kris. You certainly deserve the break!

It's a pity about your vehicles. It seems that breaking down is just what they do:idunno but the waterproofing...now that will last. :wee:thumbsup :bun

DH suggested the same, he thinks he may have done something when we got hung up during the snowstorm on an old fallen tree, trying to get around a very large fallen tree off the road. Apparently it was seeming to run ok again when he got home, both forward and back. We have full skid plates on both Jeeps, but nothing is ever 100% p

yes... the magnificence of painting the foundation black with liquid asphalt stuff... it’s going to last and keep the crawlspace dry... now about those interior walls...

@Kris5902 I got a mint green egg from one of the pullet's that layed a first egg yesterday, and it has sort of a shine to it. Amazing! I was wondering what color that she would end up laying!
Yes! Pictures please! It sounds very pretty :love (Also congratulations on a first egg :))
