Good!
I doubt it, ivermectin is a parasiticide, not an anti-viral.
Here is the basic concept from the article. Keep in mind I think this will turn out to be nonsense.

“The coronavirus is not a parasite, but experts suggest that the drug essentially treats it like one and blocks the viral RNA from invading healthy cells. Unable to enter the cell, the RNA is slowed from replicating, giving the patient's immune system more time to fight it off.”

Is this mere speculation or has it been tested/used on any virus?

The newest thing I’ve seen is that maybe Ivermectin will treat it! Some commenters on abcnews.comfigured they’d head to the pet store for heart worm medication. I figure we’ll all beat them to the farm supply store, right? I might already have horse wormer in the tack room!

Granted, I would happily test that one out on me... how bad can the skin reaction to the cattle pour on be? I should totally ask for advice here on the human dosage! Just like those prepping sites that recommend stocking up of fishmox? :p I have been seriously (actually, all joking aside) considering the ivermectin, as the lice are back yet again. This is round 3 in 2020 with the kiddo, and my head is just crawling. Sure, DH doesn’t see anything, and it’s probably psychosomatic from my experiences with them as a child. But my hair is halfway down my back (not at its longest) there’s quite a bit of it. I’ve also been eyeing the beard trimmer in the bathroom and considering a quarantine haircut shave! Not as Nobel a cause as shaving it to raise money for cancer research, and they don’t take hair donations for wigs anymore (though I’m beginning to wonder if that’s a local lice related thing too!).

Wait, what.....do you have head lice or are you talking chicken lice!?
Have heard of using human head lice treatments on chickens as they contain permethrin.
Might be the only way to get permethrin in Canada?

I am crossing my fingers, and praying I don’t have head lice, that the itching is all in my head and not actually on it... but this is the THIRD time this year that the small human here has gotten them! All “separate“ incidents, granted this last round is being blamed on re-infestation while visiting with her father on the weekends from the previous episode. Apparently he can’t afford the proper treatment shampoo, and living on a boat with no laundry access makes it much harder for him to eradicate them. It is a yearly school-borne issue here. But the child’s mother didn’t bother to inform any of the other users (us and my mom, Also the kids frequent de-facto babysitter) of the shared facilities here that she was just crawling with them (she had an extremely bad infestation on the second go-around of 2020) I noticed the lice combs in the bathroom and then another parent posted an add for their friends lice treatment salon on the island forum. Either way a cheap hair trimmer, 4 bags of chickstarter, and a liter of my non dairy coffee creamer is on DH’s shopping list now!

heres some pics from 2012, when I shaved my head for our Children’s Hospital charity. I forget exactly how much the three of us raised, but it was over $5,000 (more people offered to donate if I didn’t do it, but it was something I really wanted to do)

I would gladly offer up by silver/white hair - halfway down my back. I don't know if any org.
makes wigs for seniors. I've sure they can use them too. My mother was given a wig when she had breast cancer a second time and it metastisized I know I spelled that wrong.I used to be a great speller honestly. But words were shorter when I was in school.

oh, she is mostly unfazed by it... doesn’t like the way the medicated shampoo smells, but she was laughing about it yesterday when she said she had them again :he And now her mom has to do all their laundry again, everything, because she decided to sleep in moms bed too a couple nights. Mom “can’t” do her dad’s laundry for him either, because there’s so much of their own. We get cut off of water, yet she does 20 loads of laundry in two days and that’s not straining our water system? So glad I have a deal for water this year... we have no public Laundry facilities on island, either. I’m beginning to think about what I might be able to trade for the occasional load of laundry and shower/bath this summer too. Should we win the lottery I know what I’m doing with the money (buying the lower store/pub/campground) and putting in a freaking public shower and laundromat!
