krstms and Potter Watch...and anyone else due to hatch around the 23rd

Got my brooder all set up. All I have to do is add food/water.

Now all I need is babies. tap tap tap. I swear I'm rubbing a hole in my floor. Back and forth, back and forth. Trying to get stuff done, but not being very sucessful at it.

Well all 4 have hatched. The one that was pipping on the wrong end seems weak. I'm not sure he'll make it.

He's peeping and scooting around in the bator but the others have tried to walk and he hasnt. I hope he'll be alright. The other three seem healthy so far. It was cute watching them with the last egg to hatch. They kept walking over to it and laying their head down on the crack. They would peep and try to encourage it out. BTW I call them he but I obviously dont know what they are.

I'll post pics when theya are all dry. They keep trying to lay on the wet sponge I have in there for humidity. They must think it's really comfy but I dont think they'll dry out very good that way.

It looks like 1 EE, 2BO+WPR cross, and 1 pure BO. I wont be sure till they fluff completely. How's it going Kelly?

Glad to hear you have some healthy babies! I have some kids coming over tonight and we are going to candle for the last time before lockdown tomorrow. I'm really hoping to have a good hatch, but hearing so many stories of chicks that make it all the way to hatch day but never hatch makes me worry.

I'm a nervous wreck.

The eggs were rocking last night. This morning, so far, nothing. I've seen a couple wobble slightly, but it's really quiet. I just hope it's the quiet before the storm.

Well 3 are healthy except that one has curled toes(he's the one that I had to help that pipped on the wrong end)-not sure what to do about that and the EE has had a hernia I guess in his umbilical cord area.It didnt close right I guess and with his activity increasing he has pushed some of his intestines out through it. He acts like it hurts but is still active. I'm afraid we may have to cull him.

Back from my trip and taking the goats to the fair today. Hubby put the eggs in lockdown for me last night so I missed my last chance to candle. Tonight when I got everything and everyone settled down, I can hear peeping!!!!

Nothing moving around, just someone singing in there.

Well my EE baby died last night.

I tried putting his intestines back in really gently like I seen on another post but it just didnt work. I'm so sad. None of my EE survived. All three of my pullet eggs did though. They are doing good. All are healthy. Curly cant walk good on his curled up feet though. Anyone have any ideas on straightening them out for him? Here's some pics of my chickies. You can see curly's toes in one of them.
