I have sent Gordie two emails and never heard back from him, not good IMHO.

Please be as patient with Gordie as possible. He will eventually respond to your e-mail. You would not believe what that poor guy is confronted with. He calls me on a regular basis to visit. He called Wednesday at noon and was telling me that he had received some 45 e-mails that morning alone. He has literally been flooded with e-mails and phone calls since the posting on BYC.
Gordie operates the family owned dairy and milks 150 cows twice daily. He also breeds, raises and hatches chickens. He has a flock of 600 chickens. If all of that were not enough, his 84 year old father is sick with cancer at home. Gordie tends his every need as well. Gordie is a 150 pound giant of a man. I honestly don't see how he keeps the pace that he does. He must go 24/7. He's like the Ever Ready Bunny.

Be assured, Gordie is not ignoring your e-mail. It is no doubt in his stack of "things to do" list and he will respond to you sooner or later.

Yes, be patient with him. At times I dont hear from him for two weeks and wham, got a very nice email from him.

He sure got alot on his plate to deal with the family issues and chicken farming too. At least a little bit helps would go a long ways and he does try to please anyone and everyone. For the last five years off and on, I have bought birds and eggs from him and I have been every pleased as punch with his birds and eggs. I have not had any BAD birds either.

If you feel like he might have lost your email in the shuffle in his junk mail, email him back again with a chicken breed on the subject line and he would respond. It works with me when a month goes by that I didnt hear from him and got a little worried. He assured me that everything is well but sooooo busy with his farm and his sick father.

Its worth the wait. He got several started birds on Eggbid right now.

Gordie tells me that one of the problems he has with some e-mails is that for some reason they show up as "Spam". As a result, they go unread for a period until he has time to sort through them. I don't know what the answer to that is.

You can watch his listings on Eggbid.com. I ended up bidding on what I wanted instead of trying to reach him by email. I know he gets tons of email every day, so I just kept watch on Eggbid. Sure enough, as soon as the auction was over, I heard from him and he shipped out two days later.

Gordie's a wonderful guy. He has more going on that anyone else I know, and he does it all single handedly. His is not an easy life right now.

Here's a pic of my 6 week old roo from Gordie's stock. Look how dark he is already!! Those are just his juvenile feathers. He's still half bald, lol. Much slower to mature than a hatchery bird.

We got our chicks a couple weeks ago and we ordered 10 of one breed but only got 4. We ordered 16 hamburgs but got 12. We ordered blue andalusians and got mystery black chicks that are very fat and large. There were 5 buff leghorns and a few columbian wyandottes which we didnt want. We are hoping that the chicks we got turn out nice. All the other birds we got from him have turned out great for show and the LF cochins always win it seems.

I agree, he's extremely nice and pleasant to work with. I wish he'd hire some help with the e-mails and eggs though. He has way too much going on for one person to handle!!!
