Kudos to great Post Offices- who's yours?

Well...mine, of course!

And our neighboring one.

Asheville, NC hub is awesome for lives. Every time I have gotten lives in Express, they have called to see if I wanted to come and get them so that they didn't have to spend an extra day/night enroute. {I secretly think this is so that they do not have to see/smell them, but I don't really care, either way.

Waupaca, WI....as long as it's not the weekend. The subs can be dumb.

Ft Inn, SC ... Just spoke with them and Robin seems to be a super gal. Said she'd call me when the chicks come in, could be as early as 6 am. I said that was fine!

And it's SLEETING!!!!!! Agh!!! At least the chicks didn't come today, tomorrow is supposed to be in 50's. yea ... right.

My local P.O. has always been great when it comes to chick orders. I drop them a note a day or two before I expect the chicks to arrive and they call me the minute they take them off the truck (typically about 6 a.m.). I go get them before they have even opened. No complaints about those folks.

It's what happens in between the hatchery and my local P.O. that I sometimes have problems with.

.....Alan.

Mine is Fort Riley Ks. I dont get any chicks and such in the mail. We are practially neighbors. I live less than a 1/8 of a mile from the PO. Me and my neighbor are the last two to get mail from the mailman on the way home. They even bring UPS on occasion. Did you know the the USPS will end saturday delivery?

That is not a done deal. They're trying to pass it. Sad since so many people (including me) will lose jobs, yet mister postmaster general is sitting there happily making more than the president. And they wonder why we're in the red?!

Ottumwa, IA- but it's a "mail service" and not the actual post office that I deal with. They sign for my packages, and e-mail me if I have one to pick up. And if I were to order live birds, they are kept inside, handled carefully, and I am notified immediatly.

I love the girls at my local post office. One time I had eggs come in on the afternoon truck, after my mail lady was already out delivering the days mail. The lady in the office saw that my box said "hatching eggs" so she looked up my phone number in the phone book (it wasn't on the package) to call me and let me know my hatching eggs had arrived incase I wanted to pick them up early. Of course I did! I was just amazed that she took the time to look up my phone number - that goes above and beyond, in my opinion.

Hollywood, South Carolina! I let them know when I have eggs coming and they call me as soon as they come off the truck.
