I have a mottled bantam cockerel - he's a fluffy guy, very pretty - but he has no hens, so I'm getting rid of him (I prefer the big cochins, anyway). Let me know if you're interested. Not sure where you are in KY, I'm down in Adair county, near Cumberland and Metcalfe county lines.

We might be able to use him..my friend has one he is putting with a white frizzle hen, and one with a white straight hen, since they are black mottled..they should come out real pretty. I will see if he can use another Roo.

Cool, just let me know. He is really beautiful, nice mottling on him, and he's very fluffy. Poor little guy is just a third wheel - all the other roos go after him cause he's trying to take all their women. He even went after one of my duck hens last week LOL.

Guess the cold has given me more brain damage than usual..I forgot to ask him yesterday.

But I need to know how much you want for him anyway.

Edited to add: Billy said he doesn't need another one. I tried.

it's cool, I'm sure someone will want him. He isn't causing too much trouble right now (except to the poor duck LOL) I'll just hang onto him til someone wants him.

Are the blue bantams blue mottled, or just blue? Not like it really matters, they are both compatable with the black mottleds I have (where Mojo got her little guy

). Let me know, I would be interested in blue mottled bantams and blue and black LF cochins

I have a blue bantam pullet in with my black mottled rooster and hens, so I'm hoping to get blue mottled babies (along with black mottled babies). I should have plenty of blue and black large fowl because I will have 9 black laying pullets and 7 blue laying pullets in the spring. Just let me know.

Unless the blue bantam cochin pullet carries mottling, what you'll get are b/b/s chicks that are split for mottled. Mottled is recessive, they need 2 genes for mottling to express it. Cross any blue or splash pullets from that mix back to the rooster, or blue or splash cockerels back to the hens, to get blue mottled. I'll keep you in mind, do you have any pics?

Thanks for the input on breeding. I don't have many pictures saved on here, but here is one of a black pullet and the blue bantam pullet.

This is a barred pullet I have. I think she's so pretty:

These were all young at the time. I don't have any updated pics. Maybe when it warms up, I will take some more!

kennedyscochins, where are you located at? That would make a big difference on whether or not I can get birds/eggs from you

Thanks. I live in Big Clifty-about halfway between etown and leitchfield. I am just trying to get an idea if people would even want chicks/eggs from these if I breed them this spring or if it's just a waste of time. If you decide you do want any, just let me know. I don't care to ship them either.

Do you have any started birds, or just chicks/eggs?
