I was there my eggs took a 3rd. Bevs won they were really , really dark! Neat
Were you with the Marans people?
Eggs may have some in a week I am only getting 3 to 6 a week, but Im done hatching really just hatched some to see health of chicks and check to see if fertile, both are really good.

I belong to the Marans Club and I was actually there to show my call ducks. I ran into Dick so we did go ahead attend the meeting for a little while, if you were at the meeting you probably remember my wife and I...and baby coming into the meeting a little late and Dick asking us to introduce ourselfs...I think I asked if any FBI or Police were there before i give my name out....(it seemed funny at the time).

Congrats on the egg contest, there was some stiff compition there and a third place finish is pretty impressive.

I wish we had met at the show, I think that is like the second or third time we have been at the same place and not be introduced. Maybe I can get Yolanda to introduce us...I remember seeing her at the Ohio show.

Anyway if you get some extra eggs I would appreciate a chance at them, I already have the old redwood incubator going anyways..

Thanks for the heads up on Shepherdsville. I will have to give that a shot sometime. Right now I'm not really set up for Chickens, I have to finish the loft for the Pigeons first. The Area that I plan on using for the coop and run is where the temporary pigeon coop is.

And I want to properly prepare that area for them as well, although I suppose I could build a small set-up for them in the meantime. Just have to make it vermin, cat and dog proof.

I would be, but currently don't have a way to get down to your neck of the woods. I had heard that silkie roos aren't that loud and I had planned on ordering a couple of pullets from one of the hatcheries. Would you happen to have a couple of hens to go with him? I'm not interested in SQ, but I really like the silkies. I plan on getting some layer pullets in the spring for eggs.

Thanks in advance

Just joined this site and want you to know that I love chickens. Have several mixed and purebred varieties. Any suggestions or if you just want chickens, please post!
