I'm quite sure they can. Maybe not as likely because of swimming.. But I think I remember betty saying she didn't see any maggots. .
But then again that could also be what the chickens were picking at.![]()
There were no maggots, there's no open sores its just scabs around the vent. And a few feathers had been ripped out. Today everything is dry there is no signs of infection. The swelling is down today which is a good sign.
Her leg issue has been going on for three weeks! And if the vent issue is related to her leg then...
I couldn't find anything about a sling from WVduckchick, could you say that again, please.


Since DD is injured she couldn't get away even though she was trying, and the other duck would bury her beak into DD and come out with a beak full of feathers! One-WHAT THE HECK! I had been blaming the chickens. So question is why would the other Duck be ripping feathers out of her sisters? It's not just DD one of the others has feathers missing.
