hi I am a "new mum' as it were and i am stressing about how my 2chicks who are only 4 days old, will be able to sleep with a 6-watt bulb on. Does it cause them stress not to have darkness? I know that under a hen it would be warm and dark but how can I recreate that? Does anyone have any ideas how to make hens broody? I had to send my eggs to a local agriculture teacher at the school to hatch as none of my girls will sit. All six hens lay in the same nester even though there is heaps to choose from. Could this be the problem? Are baby chicks similar to newborn humans in their need for heaps of sleep? Can't believe i have had four kids and yet I am so stressed that these two gorgeous girls are okay!!!! Help please!!
