Langshan Thread!!!

Pics
I have placed a order for 25 White Langshans from Murray McMurray Hatchery. I know they are said not to be show quality but that is ok with me as I dont plan to put any in a poultry show.

I've got some updated photos of the whites...not great photos as they weren't cooperating, but you get the idea:

The yellow on the females looks to be getting lighter, but the male will probably have to molt before his yellow is gone.

Anyone else have any photos of their lovely Langshans?

I wish I did know. At the Shawnee, OK show there was a person with "K and K Bantams" but I could never find out who they were exactly or their information. I believe Dick Horstman has white Langshans and I have not seen any blues at all. At the Shawnee show there were only 6 black bantams, all females.

I saw some black bantams at the susquehanna poultry show. Cannot remember who owned them they were very nice and were right next to my Faverolles. I also went to a Langshan national at York PA show. There were some really good LF Blacks and Bantam Blacks they whites were also nice although their were not many of them.

One of the only reasons I'm excited to be moving to Pennsylvania is more breeders of Langshans seem to be located within that area. I cannot wait to see how their birds look and "possibly" get some of their stock! I had hoped to see more than 2 breeders at the Shawnee Show. I guess there's just not that much of a draw for them here? Do you remember seeing any blues (bantams or largefowl) up there?

call ducks, congrats!!! You're gonna have to show us pictures of your chicks (or even eggs!) when they hatch! Same goes for you Hankow! Even if they aren't show quality they will be a fun bird in your flock!

There may have been some blue LF but I cannot remember correctly. At every show both in PA and MD there seem to be a good number of very high quality Langshans.

Where are you moving in PA? Hope you have a nice farm to keep the birds on.
