Laree's "I CAN'T STOP MYSELF FROM HATCHING!!!" Hatch-a-long

Well my fabulously gigantic incubator is up an running! So stable it isn't even funny. I plopped 50 or so eggs into it and the dang thing is practically empty. So clearly it's a good thing I have two more batches of eggs on their way. Still waiting on my broodies to do their thing. Both due some time this week.

Well my hatch the 6th wasn't very good. I locked down 9 out of 24 and when I checked the eggs I had dead swimming embryos due to loos aircels. I let them rest 24 hrs before setting and no turning for 3, but they still quit. The ones I didn't lock down didn't even start. I had 4 chicks hatch and all but one died and it's skull ddn't close. Figures I didn't even figure that one would make it and it's still alive.

The PO sure likes shaking my boxes.

I have full bators and too much going on to work on fixing the Sportsman (I know I always say I'm gonna fix it) so I think I'll be offering eggs for sale. Already doing swapa, so I need to slow down and make feed money. Hopefully!

The new Dickey's incubator! See the top row doesn't even have a single egg in it! Something MUST be done.

I finally have the spray polyurethane to 'seal' the interior of my big bator so it should be up and running before too much longer!

Oh MAN, you guys started another one... LOL
I have 8 goose eggs in Lockdown right now, a bator full of ducks/geese, another full of mostly delawares and another thats half phoenix half RIR with just a couple delaware eggs to fill spaces. One is a double fertile. My 4th try at twins...

DH is off at work in FL for the month so I guess I need to join this hatch-a-long

Seriously , I can't stop hatching. It's a good thing they don't all hatch! I am building as fast as possible, the chickens are growing faster. I have 2 runs almost done, but there are chickens already in the coops, so I guess that doesn't help the situation . Going to sell some chickens at auction this weekend to make hubby a little happier, but that void will be filled in no time , have a hatch going now. Salmon faverolles, mottled houdans, buff orpingtons and a few other of my own breeds. But for once the shipped eggs are hatching! YAY! I think... Anyway, count me in I have more to set;-)Deb

I'm doing the 10 day candle tomorrow....

I'm guessing I'll be taking out half as she just doesn't cover the dozen under her very well. Every time I look she has kicked out the marans egg.
