I have hatched 10 Serama out of 47 eggs, from 2 different sellers. I have heard around here that Seramas are hard to hatch from shipped eggs. I also have a quad of larger Seramas and hatch about half in the incubator and 80-100% under a broody.
So I doubt its you. I will see movement when I candle before lockdown....then nothing .
Seramas are hard to hatch period, I've had several quitters with my own eggs. They do much better if you give them to a broody hen, I don't know what the big difference is but my 2 serama broodies haven't had any quitters and one should be hatching any day now.
ETA: I now give all serama eggs to a broody regardless of how long she's been broody. I figure even if she sets them a week that will give them a better chance
I had 2 little serama babies hatch today, thought one was a quail at first. Little stinkers are so tiny
So the current hatch is 9 of 10 coturnix (don't know if the other will hatch or not) and I think we took 6 chicken chicks out (1 BCM, 1 EE, 1 cochin bantam, 1 silkie, 2 serama). There are other chickens in there and the stinking pheasants (with no pips
) still, but it's early.
