..Yes, Mr. Laree doesn't let me play with the power tools. Nevermind the welders.
I got to do all the materials procurement (almost all recycled or scraps), all the design, mods, wire cutting, end-of-roll hardware cloth bending, trouble-shooting, etc.
Mr. Laree is creative, and can do a million things, but sometimes cannot think outside of the building box. He stores his tools by what they are for, rather than the type of tool/work they do.
Rather than putting all the wrenches/wire cutters, hammers, etc. in their own drawers, he has them all by their specialty. How to explain.....If he were a book store: rather than putting all the reference in one area, the romance novels in another, the horror books in a third, he has the books in order by the author's middle name. Detail-oriented. It makes it hard for him to think outside the box, sometimes---OR it could be an excuse to buy more specialty toys. You decide.
Along the same lines, he never "browses" Home Depot. He is in there a million times a day for work, but he had NEVER noticed the "scrap wood" bin. The kids and I kept coming home with pre-cut wood for random projects, and he thought we were stealing from construction sites.
