Oh I’m so disappointed 😞 we are on day 18 and I’m quite sure we won’t have success with this bunch of eggs. I put in 6 gold laced orpington eggs, took one out a few days ago as it was most certainly a no go. We are left with 5 but I have candled them before putting them into lockdown and I can’t see any movement. They also have large diagonal air cells? I can see veins in some of them but not clear in others.
lost hope but will continue and hope for the best.

Can you candle from the fat end instead? You'll have a much better view of what's going on. I agree that at day 18, those are looking a bit empty, but that space isn't the air cell, and even late incubation eggs can look weirdly empty.
Like this: (day ~18 egg also)

Veins mean life, so that's good news for some potentially.

Have you calibrated your incubator thermometer?

i haven’t calibrated my incubator no, I’m not sure how to?
I can only see air cells in two and one of them definitely looks off! 😬

The easiest way is to get another thermometer(or two, or four haha) and compare. Medical thermometers are best for this as they're usually very accurate in the temperature range you're looking for. Most incubators out of the box need to be adjusted up or down. I would guess yours is running cool. You can sometimes still hatch chicks if the temperature is a bit off, but it lowers hatch rates and increases the chance of developmental problems or deformities.

After 18 days of incubation, an egg that isn't developing or has quit will have a degraded air cell that's less or not at all visible. Those two you posted have nice crisp air cells, so they should be still alive. The wonky one looks like it's from a shipped egg, that can happen sometimes. If the eggs were shipped, that will also affect hatch rates.

I’m sure it isn’t the same but I have just used my infared forehead thermometer and the eggs are ranging from 36-37 if it’s correct.
Yes they were shipped from an eBay seller.. I know 🤦🏻‍♀️ Not ideal.
will keep my fingers crossed for a miracle! And keep you all updated.
Thanks for the advice

just to add that the incubator has been set at 37.5 although as you said it may be running cool.
