ok, he/she was wormed yesterday, should she be getting a foot soak daily?

I had a rooster that looked almost identical to this one with the exception of a more prominent comb and wattles. He was a really pretty rooster but a little too aggressive for a cochin, not that he was overly mean just bullied the younger birds and ameraucanas ...Happy New Year everyone!
I'm new to this thread and have a few unrelated questions:
1. I'm trying to find Lemon Blue hatching eggs/shipped chicks - does anyone have recommendations?
2. I have seen someone post a picture of a cochin that has coloring just like a lemon pyle brahma. I love the creamy color and am wondering if this exists in LF cochins? The photo could have been mislabeled.
3. I have a young cockerel (18 weeks) and am not sure if he's worth keeping?

I think you are right about this being a pullet.. Another way you could worm her is give her crushed red pepper (like the kind you put on pizza) and Diatomaceous Earth mixed in the feed.. This is how I worm my birds every month or so.. Plus the peppers will help her produce more heat and the DE is a great source of highly digestible calcium, which she probably really needs.IMO you have a pullet. Having her on a towel is probably good as the shavings might promote infection until her feet are healed. She also might have worms (cause of her being thin). However, I would not stress her by worming until she has settled in & is eating well.
I think as long as they are kept clean she should be okay, with going a couple of days or so between soakings. Just wash them off and put antibiotic or some other kind of ointment on that will also act as a water barrier..ok, he/she was wormed yesterday, should she be getting a foot soak daily?
Quote: ok, she was wormed with wazine yesterday, will it be ok to give the pepper? and will the pepper take care of all worms? i sure would prefer doing that-
Partial/short/dwarf whatever expression you want to use toes are very common with feather legged fowl. It is a minor deduction in points in the showroom. You don't have to worry about gender, you can plainly see the pointed saddle feathers coming in on him (both these pictures and the previous ones), making him a cockerel. Hopefully his toes will continue to heal from the injury.
Well, I could be wrong regarding genderI've been wrong before. However, if he/she is indeed 8 months old I would expect bigger comb & wattles for a cockerel. Obviously, time will tell

Oh, didn't see you had commented, some lines of large fowl take a really long time to mature, but pullets don't get saddle feathers like that. Comb size and wattles, especially if growing out in cold weather it slows their development, always safer to rely on something more reliable like sex feathering especially in a breed like Cochins.
