Do these 2 gold laced girls look close to laying? They are 17 weeks old and have a lot more comb and wattle development than the other colored girls.

Please tell me what you think of my Cochins. This is Georgie she is curious.A Self-Blue. The Darker blue one behind her is Little foot she is also self-Blue but they are very different coloring I think. Also what does the SELF infront of the Blue mean? This is Little Foot The two here are Isabelle in front and Annabelle in back they are Gold Laced. and Being photo bombed by Blue cochin Bantam roo named Lulu. If I wanted to breed them would a Black roo be the best choice? Or should I get something for each variety?
The gold laced in front looks like it's getting rooster coloring.

I have 2 partridge cochin pullets and 1 white cochin pullet from a hatchery. They are little stinkers, always getting into mischief.

This is Lacey.

This is Rosa.

And this is Marbles.

It is said that the hens of this breed average around 8 lbs. I don't know where that weight stands today or if that was the stat of years gone by. I recently purchased 4 white hens and they are growing quite well. This breed was a parent bird used in the makings of the Belgian Malines that I currently have. I am hoping to interbreed to gain fresh blood into the malines without giving up meat flavor and weight loss. I could have used brahmas or langshans but opted for the cochins because I thought they had more to offer. If any of you are weighing your birds at maturity, I would care to know the weight you are achieving. Thanks.

Hi there. I'm looking for a Partridge Cochin Rooster or maybe even a pair. They don't need to be show quality but I do want decent quality. I'm located in Oregon so thinking about maybe doing hatching eggs since shipping chickens might be difficult. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

I am outcrossing some Belgium malines with the large chochin breed in the spring. I think you might find a liking to them. They will be a great homestead breed for both meat, eggs and pets. Very docile breeds being outcrossed together. They will be a herringbone barred pattern. Both are very large birds and have excellent leg and body feathering.
