If you use a Splash rather than a Blue for your first mating, the F1's will be 100% Blue. Just gives you less F1s to cull, and more opportunity for selection. The Blue F1s back to the Partridge will then yield 50% Blue.

Excellent point!

yes it it but i dont have splash right now i would also breed the black babies back to the partridge sence partridge have poor type

I have just three of the LF Cochins and they are about six months old now . The hens are very sweet and have been laying for about a month . It was very windy the day I took the pics so the rooster looks like his skirt is being blown over his head . I am having trouble replying to the post .

I'm not sure it would be possible, but if it were possible, it shouldn't be too hard. You need to cross a blue to a partridge and then take the offspring back to the partridge to get the penciling back. The question is whether or not the blue gene would indeed affect only the black part of the feather and leave the mahogany center parts. Also, in using a blue, you would have a difficult time with the "Black" gene that would cover everything up on the first generation. Maybe a 3-4 year project to see if it could be done and a few more years to get any quality back of lacing.

The Blue partridge if breed for the male is not too bad and is done in many other breeds. The problem is in the female pattern, it almost always lost and getting it back is a very rough road. There are very few good examples of Blue / red partridge patterned females.
