Is your roo alot bigger than your pullets? I am raising a LF ( SilvervLaced) pair for the first time and my pullet seems so tiny compared to the roo plus her comb and wattle are alot more pale than his. She acts fine I have been worried about her.

Yes, the Roo is about 2 pounds heavier than the girls right now. Very quiet. Every once in awhile he'll crow around 7:30AM. He is not an early riser, nor does he feel inclined to do it every day.

my son shot a rat out of our garden that he said the girls helped him flush out.. so apparently they figured they were supposed to get the kill.. and as he was walking to show me.. they were jumping up and snapping at the rat till one got it.. and well lets say.. yup I say dinosaurs were just bigger chickens.. cause man they were vicious about eating that rat.. yuck...

Hello All,
I am finally venturing into the world of breeding LF Blue Cochins. I’m sooo excited.

I was wondering if you guys and gals could give me some pointers.
I am new to the breeding world but I am the type of person that believes you can never stop improving and I am foolish enough to say that I want to have some of the best looking Blues in SC.

You never know, maybe 10yrs from now people in the Midwest will be asking for my Cochins.

I’ve been to the Cochins International page, but they don’t have any pictures for Blue Cochins. Where can I find a picture of what they should look like? I’m sure that all of you were new at some point in time. How did you learn about breeding?
My first trio of Blue Cochins should be here by the end of next week.
Hopefully you all can put up with my newness, I just want to try and make this the best I can.

Is it a pullet? If so, I'll take it.
Do you know if it is from a local flock? I know mine are from Troy's flock.
