Large Rooster, smaller hens, is he going to hurt them?

Hello!

I picked up a rooster (named Copper, a barnyard mic) recently to join my flock. My pullets (red sex link) are about 6 months old, and he is about a year old.

I noticed that he's significantly bigger than my hens. I saw him looking to cover one and when he did, he used his feet to stand on her all the way at where her wings join her body, her shoulders. I read that usually they stand on their back right above their tail.

He seems to be a gentleman though. He "asked" one of the hens by putting his foot on her and when she ducked away, he didn't chase her or corner he. He went back to tidbitting for a bit and then didn't climb on until a few minutes later when she crouched.

Is this ok? Is he going to hurt them standing so far up?

If you could get to ground level instead of hovering the camera over (admittedly it might involve sitting on the ground or bending over) I think it would help a bit
Other than that, as far as I can tell they seem fine!

On a side note, I have a barnyard mix roo that looks almost identical to yours...

He looks even bigger when roosting. Look at him next to the hens on the bar.

He's taking half the bar, and the four hens are taking the other half haha.

I've only got the four hens, which I'm hoping is enough for him.

They will be fine together. They are all standard sized. Roosters are bigger than hens of the same breed. When you see a post warning about size differences it is because the hens are bantams.
As far as how he stands on the hen when breeding that is the normal place. It sounds like he has a demeanor that fits your flock. Hopefully that will continue as he ages.
