Large, Squishy crop..

She is not losing weight. Today is the first day I have seen this huge crop. It wasn't there this morning. I know they carry stuff but she is not feeling well.

Tonight she seemed a little better though who knows what the morning will bring. Fingers crossed.

No, Sammi, I didn't see it. We must have posted at the same time or something.

The crop feels like a squishy balloon. It is not grainy. There seemed to be a sour odor but then the next time it wasn't.... not enough to say Wow, that is sour. It is hard for me to get her to open her mouth. I haven't seen her droppings. When isoated, for an hour there were none in the cage. I am not able to take her to the vet.

I am going to check on her this morning.

Ellie-
Can you seperate her and keep her away from food for a day? You need to see if her crop goes back down (ie. she is digesting her food). If it does, you should be in the clear. If not, you have a problem.

I opened the door to let them out and all but Dorothy came out and I started around to go in to find her.... then she came out by herself. I was so relieved. I checked her crop and it is smaller than yesterday! This must be good news. I am letting her have some yogurt and warm rice and then I wil isolate her in the cage where she can't eat. I am home, so can check on her during the day. I can see if she poops when she is in there. It is a 4x8 dog pen. It is on grass so I can't keep her from that but it is short grass. She will have water. I am always saying that she has diabetes because she drinks water all the time. More so than the others.

Edited to say: she is eating grit. I usually don't replenish it often it because they free range.... I put more out for her.

Thanks for your help,
Ellie
