honestly i have no idea where it is. All i know is it is in NC i just hear the OEGB members talking about it a lot. it comes around every November, Thats all i've know since i haven't been to a show either and it'll probably be 2-3 years before i show myself (Want to make some improvements on a few of my lines.. Mainly the Silver duckwings. ) give me a day though and i could find the directions or at least the name of who hosts it and you could contact them for it

As for what it is.. Its just a HUGE show all i hear about is OEGBs there but im sure others are as just about every show. it lasts 2 days i believe and any breeder/shower whose anybody is there. I know people that travel from all over the states, the shows in OEGbs are about 2,000 most of the time and the way i hear they have just about the same amount in the for sell section

That would be wonderful. I am not ready at all to show. I would just like to go and see all the chickens and talk to all the "chicken" people in NC.

Jacob's cave in Missouri is said to be a humongous swap! 4 days of just swapping birds! WOO HOOOO!

I see they have not updated their dates for 2009 but it is about the same time frame every year.

I have not been yet but am planning on it this year. If ya need any help with anything promotional let me know! I think it will be a blast.

In 1974 The OHIO NATIONAL Poultry Show hosted the 100th anniversary celebration of the American Poultry Association. That was the first time that The OHIO NATIONAL had hosted the biggest show of the year.

Since then there have been only two years that the largest show of the year was not The OHIO NATIONAL.

As an example of this shows preemince - The 5,300 bird entry at Columus this year exceeded the combined entry at the APA national meet in California and the entry at the ABA national meet in Florida this weekend.

Typically there are more birds entered in the Junior division of The OHIO NATIONAL than 75% of the other shows in the country have in both divisions.

I think the largest one in California is the PPBA which used to be in Sacramento (Roseville) but is now in Stockton. There are always over 2000 birds, sometimes close to 3000.

The Oklahoma Poultry Federation holds a show in Shawnee, OK each December. They have a limit of 2,800 birds, but they are always maxed out. I know it is one of the biggest shows in the US, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was in the top 10

I went to the Sunshine Classic Poultry show in Lake City, FL this past weekend. It was the American Bantam Assoc National show. There were 230 Exhibitors and a total of 2700 birds entered. It was a great show and I had a great time. Fellow BYC'er "Noshoes" came and took pics. You can see his pics on the 'Lake City Poultry Show' thread, he has a link there.
