This one is really nice looking, but I worry about a 1:1 ratio with only 4 total birds in that pen, so unfortunately I just can't keep him. I'll be getting more next spring though so I might be okay keeping a lean male from that batch if I get enough females and have a lean one in it.My girls tend to be leaner, Cygnus looks almost effeminate compared to my other boys! Maybe that's another reason I like him so much!

True. Maybe I will. I still have to have enough drakes to be worth the processing drive, but I do think he's neat looking.
If it were me, I'd keep him at least until Spring. But we all know how bad I am at culling!
Haven't decided yet. My processing date is in a few weeks still. I'm going to wait a week or so and see jow my feed consumption is without the 15 Birds I culled or sold this weekend is. I have another 3 hens that need to be culled still and then I'll be reevaluating who's left. I'd like to cull another 8-10 after those 3, but we're starting to get to where the ones left are more pets than decorations so I'm not sure
I do think I'm probably leaning in the keep him side. Would a 1:1.5 ratio possibly work if they're calm like Moose was his first year? I can more Twila to that pen since she's white too, and then Moose would have 3 and the two youngsters would have 3 to share
