Larkwell Valley (2023)

Still nor sure if Goose is staying. I'm wanting to keep him, I just have to talk it over and make sure that doesn't make the trip not worth it for the other 3. I'm fine with it personally, but my mom might not want to go that far just for 3 birds. Not like we have a ton of room in the freezer either though, I'm not sure Goose would really even fit now that I think about it. Going to be hard enough with the other 3, or even other 2 if we keep one in the fridge to eat once it's rested
It's always a tough decision. I only have a certain amount of females I'm keeping and as much as I like some of the drakes I am not able to keep them all. If I could there are two that I like that I would keep, but one is very aggressive at breeding time (towards the other drakes) and is of the 'chonky' variety and the other is a lovely self-chocolate of the slim variety but I don't need any more chocolate breeders.

If I can get large enough boxes, I may try to sell some tomorrow at auction.

I'm like you and barely have any freezer room left.

If (big if) I did my math right, including gas price and fee but not time, it would be about 16 dollars per drake total to do 3 for processing. Obviously they'll be at least a pound after processing id imagine, but I have no idea what weights they are now, let alone when theyre all cleaned abd bagged. I'm guessing it will end up being about 8 dollars a pound, including bones

Purely guesstimating the weights I'll get (budgeted about 50% of live weight for young males of the breeds), I will get about 6 or 6.5 pounds of meat and bone at about $7.68 per pound.

Roughly. I'll do the math again when I get them back and see how close I was though.

@Canadian Wind , do you know if female Rouen get green bills sometimes? She quacks loudly, but also does a lot of silent quaking and is the only one of the 3 to have a green bill. The male in the group has been an obvious male for over a month now.
