most of my buffs shine on their necks,I have never had a hen shine on their backs other then a couple black birds.
 
Yes, the feathers around the hackle (neck) and the saddle (backish) areas are pointed on males and rounded on females. This is my little guy, you can see it really well with his coloring. My Buff Orpinton pullet in the photo with him was about 20 weeks, she was a pretty slow maturer though.
Maybe my pictures didn’t show that, I see that in person though. Is it a male trait?

Okay. Final conclusion is that Randy/Randi is Randi for sure? No cockerels? Just want to make super sure before I keep them. I was kind of hoping I had a cockerel so I could get some Silkies. Maybe I’ll sell one or two of these. Thanks for the help!!
