But how can we discover ... if we don't go .... ?

(Realizing that I can't be objective .. as I have NASA in my blood .. )

That's why I said I'm fine with sending robots. And trust me, call ducks, if REALLY valuable resources were discovered, corporations would VERY quickly find a way to transport the stuff. Heck, with all the insanity from Einstein's theories, who knows what crazy transport methods could be discovered. If I'm not mistaken, Einstein said that the maximum speed for a solid object was 95% of the speed of light. That's frickin' fast if travel was confined to our solar system.

Einstein was very smart and had Autism i think (never learnd about him i just have that in my brain). The problem is how are we going to get the robots? It's still costly to shoot those robots and rockets up there. Those robots are coming withing the next 50 years ( Tech dubling every 18 or so months = yah at most 50 years) as you may have notcied i love talking about space lol.

Robots are costly here on earth to run. Think how much it would cost to run up there. We would also need a diffent type of power soruce then solor. as the ammount of light may cahange.

The Mars rovers seem to be doing fine on just solar, though I agree, when it comes to human exploration, something else. Hydrogen, maybe, with solar as backup. Now, if somebody discovered nuclear fusion... but that's a LONG way off.
