Katsdar, do you want me to PM you about the book pyramid? They were a success for Christmas!

And I think 25 is a fair amount of blocks- when i get the finished set I plan on giving half to my mom. She joined BYC and also joined one of the block swaps that did not end well, so I think if she sees how they are supposed to work, she might come back and help with a future one!

Hi,
Yes please PM me with the book pyramid instructions that would be wonderful, yes tell your mom to give the swaps another try, I heard about the disaster, and I can tell you the last swap which was also my first was wonderful and since then I'm in 3 more, and waiting to mail off 2 sets, the 25 blocker I just have to finish putting on the petals and I have volunteered along with another person to fill in for someone who had to drop out, so I have to just sew my half of those blocks, which they are cut out just have to wait for the holiday crazies to get over with.

I'm glad my swaps are really swaps. I was very unhappy to have my first quilt block swaps blocks stolen. It should never be that way.

Now with the holidays over with maybe I can get to my blocks. I have picked the pattern but haven't got into my stash yet and chosen fabric. I still have one more grandson quilt to finish before I start on it. The boys will be here with their mother sometime after New Year and before school starts back so I have time to get it done.

fenrosie your not in a flood prone area to are you? I love my creek, but with the last rain I thought I was going to have to bring stuff onto the porch like the grill, but thankfully the rain stopped in time and didn't over flow the bank.

Hey,
Did you have your great reveal?

Yes and yes!!! We are on a flood plain , our land would be used to dump water to save Nottingham ( of Robin Hood fame) and Lincoln which is only a few miles from us. We live on (your going to like this Kat) Brantson Fen which is land reclaimed from the sea so the fields are below sea level. When we built our new house 3 years ago we were made to start about 6 feet out of ground so we have a whole bungalow buried beneath house!
The grand reveal was great, Mary has photos on her camera of us undoing the parcel. I love all of the blocks and can't wait to make a quilt with them.

fenrosie, just saw your location. I was born in Lancashire, Oldham to be exact and then lived in Wales until we came to the US. It's surprising how far away all of us are from each other but yet just a quilt block swap away.

You know we are going to do another chicken block swap, to add to our collection!!!! Can't wait, have new patterns I want to try and since I'm new to the block stuff, seeing all of the different blocks styles has given me some new ideas, that I want to try.
Glad you like the blocks.
Kat
say hey to Robin Hood
