So I thought I'd add a few new pics of my babies at 6 weeks old. Out of 10, I think I have 3, possibly 4 cockerels. If I only keep one, what attributes are best to decide which one? The friendliest male (so far) has legs just a little lighter colored. But they really all look so much alike to me, I'm not even sure what to look for. All the ones that I believe are males come to me the fastest, before the females, when I bring treats, or just come to talk to them.

4 girls?

Oops, one missed the photo shoot...

My lawyer said I cannot grandfather clause it, but that a newsletter is not a legal document.

So if its a new "rule" trying to be implemented, would it have to be voted on? Would others in the development object?
We have an HOA that says no outside animals other than cats or dogs. But technically, my property is just "through" the development, we live on the back side, and only pay into the HOA for winter snow removal and road maintenance. Only 2 or 3 houses can actually see mine, and nobody has reason to even see where my birds are. The closest neighbors (including the HOA president) know about my birds and don't care. I also think I could object on the technicality, but not really sure. I have 2 acres, but many of the other houses are close together, so I understand.. maybe no roosters, but I do feel for you and hope things go your way! Good luck!

thanks I am on almost 2 acres- the guy complaining is kinda deaf so I think his wife complains to him. our house is log. his is probably thin walled. I have no trouble getting access to any kind of chicken I want rare ones included and don't need more chicks at the moment. but I am stubborn. My roos are currently babies and not crowing.

oh, I have 4 LO, one is adult hen, 3 chicks. I was sad because I thought one chick was a roo and I would not be able to keep. looks like all chicks may be hens. I have other roos. but my concern was the LO. so yeah!
