Hello everyone - I have been waiting for year to hatch some lav orps... fell in love with them the first time I laid eyes oneone. Now.. my problem... I finally got some eggs... shipped

out of 6 eggs, only one hatched... she is very cute (I say she cause i want her to be a girl...) I am not sure she is a lav though.... all pics I have seen show gray legs, and more gray coloring... I love my little chick.. but i really wanted a lav. The lady I got the eggs from said they were from jchinks lines.. I am not so sure...

your thoughts?? another BYCer said they she was a molted lav.. she just seem too "white" to me. She is 3 or 4 days old in this pic.. hatched last Saturday

Hmm, this happens sometimes, I don't think its a lavender though.. you could wait and see if its legs and beak get darker, its possible that it is still a lavender but I doubt that its a mottled lavender.

I would write the lady you got the eggs from..that chicks coloring is off aswell..

i have a mix of eggs in my incubator. was wondering if the lavender chicks will all have the slate color with the yellow. or will some just be yellow

Lavenders are slate colored when born..and should have some grayish on legs and beak that will get darker as they get older..
