Just an update, Charlotte at 8 weeks 2 days confirmed himself today with his first few attempts at crowing. So very funny sounding.

I don't have much experience either, for I only have Orpingtons for a year and a half, all buff hens. They didn't have the slightest comb showing at 10 weeks. You might have a slower developing roo there, but I would wait awhile, because the color of the comb is pale. It might just be a pullet with a larger comb.My little Cuddles made a strange honking noise yesterday. (She was nervous because my daughter's friends were passing her around & trying to get her to perform some tricks. Yes, she does some clicker training.) Anyway, when she made the strange honk, she held her head up like a roo with curved neck. Could she be a roo or was this a call out for help? (My other Lav Orp, Tank, is a roo & we knew that from his 2nd week of life. The comb is 2x the size & red.) Cuddles is shy & looks female to me. What is your opinion?
10+ weeks old.

I think she looks like a pullet. Here is my little rooster he is 4.5 weeks in this picture. Twice the size of the little black chick he was hatched withI don't have much experience either, for I only have Orpingtons for a year and a half, all buff hens.
