Laying boxes

I have a small chicken mobile that is 32 inches wide, and I had this small water tray in the mobile. They were laying inside and outside the planter box. I found a low edge tote that was the exact length. I put all new sawdust in it.
The question I have is will they be ok with a larger box and will not squish the other eggs once they lay? Or do they never intend to squish each others eggs? That would put my mind at ease.
Today we had a Wonderful surprise!

We have 6 hens and thus far has 7 eggs!!!

I am so happy for my girls!! I try to give them all that they need, love and feed them good.

Hello,
My hens all like to share the same box when laying there eggs. I try to get the egg before the other hen goes in to lay but I dont always manage it. But they have never brocken the other hens egg. They are always intact.

Thank you for that info. Makes me a feel a bit better. I had to rescue an egg one out in the run because the rooster was about to peck it!!
