laying silkie..!!

heyyy everyone... so a friend of mine has a pair of silkie and he wanted to know if the silkie hen is close to laying eggs... i think the hen is 7.5 to 8 months old.. any suggestion are welcome...

My silkie hen took a long time to produce the 1st egg. You will know she is ready when she starts to squat when you touch her back.
Mine was over 9 months long after my other breed chicks of the same age had their 1st eggs.
