Learning to perch

Chicks are 5.5 weeks and mom moved them to perch last night. They had been sleeping with mom in nesting box. At first the youngest kept trying to sleep on top of her because our other adult hen was pecking at her but it all worked out.Also is this a hen or Rooster?)))

Yes, they will definitely need some help with that sometimes.

The grey one is looking like it may be a cockerel. You can post new pictures in a week.

Thanks,I am getting attached to them and since where I live roosters are not allowed I am hoping for hens.
